A Flash Back

February 27, 2010

My parents arrived at about 6:30am and baby and I were still stable. Now we had to wait. They called in a specialist to perform an ultra sound to see how the baby was doing. When Dr. Floyd arrived he looked like Santa, he had a white beard and was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. He told us that the baby was not getting a lot of blood and nutrients from the umbilical cord. Normally it flows from mom to baby in a fast, slow, fast, slow pattern. Today my blood flow was fast, stop, fast, stop, which is not awesome but not as bad as it could be. Worst case fast, reverse, fast, reverse.

I also got a new bed which was way more comfortable than the one I had the night before. They also told me I would be moving rooms. So we got to move to a room in post postpartum which was weird since the baby was still inside of me.

No wait the room change didn't happen until Sunday.

I finally got to eat which you wouldn't think is that big of a deal unless you hadn't eaten for awhile, and I was starving. I can't really remember what I ate but I know it tasted delicious.

At this point we were thinking we would be here for a few weeks so Seth went home to shower and get us movies. The rest of the day was uneventful except for vital checks, fetal monitoring, and resting.

  1. What a good idea to post your journal Chels! And fun to remember all the details of little Landon's arrival, as nerve-racking as it was! :) Thanks for sharing!
