My parents arrived at about 6:30am and baby and I were still stable. Now we had to wait. They called in a specialist to perform an ultra sound to see how the baby was doing. When Dr. Floyd arrived he looked like Santa, he had a white beard and was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. He told us that the baby was not getting a lot of blood and nutrients from the umbilical cord. Normally it flows from mom to baby in a fast, slow, fast, slow pattern. Today my blood flow was fast, stop, fast, stop, which is not awesome but not as bad as it could be. Worst case fast, reverse, fast, reverse.
I also got a new bed which was way more comfortable than the one I had the night before. They also told me I would be moving rooms. So we got to move to a room in post postpartum which was weird since the baby was still inside of me.
No wait the room change didn't happen until Sunday.
I finally got to eat which you wouldn't think is that big of a deal unless you hadn't eaten for awhile, and I was starving. I can't really remember what I ate but I know it tasted delicious.
At this point we were thinking we would be here for a few weeks so Seth went home to shower and get us movies. The rest of the day was uneventful except for vital checks, fetal monitoring, and resting.

A Flash Back
The next few days I will be posting parts of my journal from when our lives were magically changed...
February 26th, 2010
Friday morning when I left for school I thought I was going to have a normal day. The drive to school was normal and actually there was not much traffic on the roads. I arrived at school knowing it was going to be a crazy day because it was a spirit assembly day and the kids are always crazy on those days.
The day progressed as normal with reading buddies and all the normal things that happen. After school I had a doctors appointment which I thought was going to be a routine checkup. Seth was meeting me there and boy am I glad he was there.
The appointment started out normal with blood pressure check and peeing in a cup. Then things hit the fan. There was protein in my pee which was not a good thing. Dr. Su told me I had to go to Capitol Region to take a 24 hour urine test and have a stress test done on the baby. At this point we knew something was not right but we didn't know how bad it really was. She told us not to rush and get something to eat, so we went to Applebees and little did we know that would be our last 'date' before we became a family.
We arrived at the hospital and as Seth and I sat in the triage unit of labor and delivery I did not expect how our lives where going to change. I just kept praying that everything was okay with our baby.
The nurse came back after the stress test and said she needs to talk to Dr. Su. The next thing I knew I was being admitted to the hospital and Dr. Su was on her way there. Something was not right with the baby and they were going to watch him over night. Well Dr. Su arrived and she did not like the thought of keeping me at that hospital and she was transferring us to Columbia Regional Hospital. They gave me magnesium which was awful and made me feel like my insides were on fire. They said it will help relax both me and the baby. They loaded me into the ambulance and off we went with Seth following.
We were thinking we were having this baby tonight, I was so scared I just keep praying that the baby would be okay. I never really thought about myself and the danger I was in but I don't think I really cared all I wanted was a healthy baby. My parents were on there way and after arriving at the new hospital they got us both stable and we didn't know what was going on. I kept thinking Seth was not going to be able to find me and he would miss something, but he made it and I was instantly calmed. We had a restless night of monitoring and blood pressure checks, I didn't get much sleep but I think Seth was okay on the pull out bed, he didn't seem to wake up any of the times I had to be woken for some type of check.
*On a side note, I kept telling the paramedics they brought me to the wrong hospital. Dr. Su said I was going to University Hospital and they brought me to Columbia Regional. Little did I know they were the same thing just in different buildings. I believe the nice paramedic reassured me about 10 times I was in the right place. Thanks for being patient with me!

My New Ride
So even though Landon is almost one he is still planning on living here at home with us, not heading out on his own quite yet(he's also showing off his two lower teeth a bit). Landon also finally left some shoes on and did not get angry they were on like he usually does. Lastly it was so nice out (70 degrees), so we decided to go for a walk and we let Aspen do all of the work. She surprisingly pulled him right from the start and Landon's only complaint was the jerking when Aspen wanted to go too fast. We went up and down our road four times with Aspen pulling the whole time. All in all it was fun and easier than us pushing him in his little car.

Feeding Myself Yogurt
...and wearing some hand me down hawkeye gear. Landon loved spreading the yogurt all over his tray and face. Landon also likes wearing all his sweet gear his cousin Brady has graciously let him borrow. Landon is now standing up on his own without using anything and has taken up to six steps on his own. That being said he also gets "hurt" more often and as you can see on the close up pictures towards the bottom he got a nice black and blue mark above his right eye. But he was still in good spirits and giving some funny faces with his popsicle stick.

Bring on the Snow
We have another snow day today but this time Seth has to work so Landon and I am just hanging out. Our little man turns 11 months old today. I know people always say time goes fast but really this fast...where has the time gone.
Landon updates;
-taking a few steps on his own
-loves to walk behind our walker thing
-is drinking out of his sippy cup on his own (he has been doing that for awhile just never updated)
-new words; dog, b, dana, go, thank you (sortof)
-Is eating all big boy food (loves to eat it by the way)
*Something is going on the with computer and it wont let me upload pictures right now. I will have Seth look at it when and if he ever gets home tonight.
Oh I forgot to mention, we are in a major snow storm we are supposed to get 12-15 inches. So don't go out if you live in our area, that means a lot coming from a Minnostan
